Below the break are the results to this years raww.orgy 2010 demoparty. I had to normalise some of the results... a three-entry tie for first place in the graphics compo!??! So those entries had the voting normalised to work out who came first. If there is any contention issue with the results... well, I'm
fairly certain my maths is correct. I will post more information if it's needed (as I expect it will be).
Full downloads of the compo entries are

/----------- raww.orgy 2010 result -----------\
v.1
-------------------------------------------

The following are the results of the compos
at raww.orgy 2010, which took place from
5th to 7th February 2010 in Yeovil, England

-------------------------------------------

The voters at the party were:
icabod laesq mikezt
gasman jojo equinox

-------------------------------------------

The voting was done by assigning each entry
a score from 0..10 depending on how rubbish
or great the entry was. These votes were
then added up to decide the winners.
However, there was a joint first-place in
the Intro compo, and a three-entry tie for
first place in the Graphics compo.

To solve this problem, the votes were
normalised...
So each vote was converted to a score from
0..1 - meaning that even if someone thought
the entry was great, if they voted it lower
than the others, it scores 0.
These normalised values were added up, so
each entry scored up to 6.

Only the joint first places were normalised
to see who actually came first.

Does that make sense? I hope so. I can give
more detail if it's needed.

Note that this normalisation wasn't needed
for the music competition.

v.1 First version of results

\---------------------------------------------/
Some interesting results, even disregarding the joint first place issues... the 256b Intro compo was very close. Can Skrju's entry be the first 256b Intro that contains an actual story? It's great stuff whatever, and was very close behind the other entries. The graphics entries were all good, with a couple of gigascreen pics. I'm still undecided about allowing multicolour next year. And some nice music too, although less entries than usual. I put this down to the short-notice of the party. If raww.orgy happens in 2011, I will be sure to announce it much earlier. Like in 2010!
All in all, nice stuff. I will try to work out if prizes can be made available this year - but the prizes from previous parties will be sorted out first.
