I meant to post something earlier, and I also hoped to do something special here, but with the party happening I've not had the time. So... I should at least mention that...
Today raww.org turned 10 years old!

Thanks to Factor6 for posting the missing news earlier today. I really should have read the site before posting it myself - I suck. Apologies to Claus Jahn, Yerz, LCD, ... for posting news and me ignoring it - actually, I didn't ignore it, but my new email filtered out the "news waiting" email. Hmph.
Factor6 now has more admin rights, which should help :)

I'm sure you've noticed that I've been a bit quiet online of late. Well the reason for that has now arrived - on Monday morning, my wife gave birth to our baby son, James. I'll try to get some actual scene news posted sometime soon (I have a few bits of news backed up), but for now my priorities are elsewhere. In the meantime, keep an eye on Speccy Live for ZX news, and why not pop over to my blog for some photos of the new arrival.

Although considering my recent bouts of silence most people won't notice, I'm going to be without any internet for a little while, because I'm moving to a new house tomorrow. I'm in the middle of packing everything Mrs.Bod and I own into boxes at the moment, ready for it to be shifted to... the other side of town. Not far, but still quite disruptive. I expect Factor6 will post some news while I'm offline, and hopefully we'll get to see some results and quality prods from this weekends DiHalt.
As usual, keep your RSS readers pointing to the normal feeds (raww.org included) and have a fun while I'm away.

Thanks to Gasman to pointing out an issue that we were having with RSS feeds... basically it seems the caching of RSS feeds used on this site is a little, ehm, fuxxored. So for the time-being I've removed the feeds as it was dramatically slowing down this site, and increasing load on other sites. Which isn't nice.
I'll put the feeds back when I have time to sort it out.

Yes, it's been a while since I added any news - I'll try to do a catch-up over the weekend. In the meantime I suggest you keep an eye on Speccy Live, especially as they're now posting some news in English.

Well in case you'd not spotted it, this weekend see's possibly the biggest 8-bit scene event: Forever9, taking place in Trencin, Slovakia. However this news post isn't about the party... it's about the fact that I'm going, meaning I won't be around to post news until some time on Monday. For this reason, keep an eye on Speccy Live and Pouet (nothing there yet) for releases and results, and I'll fill you in on what I know when I know it. Have a good weekend, and if you see me at the party you can give me a beer for being such a nice news-chap :)

Well the weekend is coming up and I'm away for most of it, so news will have to wait until I get back. This site is in danger of becoming one of those never-updated places. Don't worry, all will get back to normal soon.
In the meantime, don't forget that next weekend is Forever2008 in Trencin, Slovakia. I'll be there, which is reason enough to visit the party.

Just a very quick note to mention that I'm going to be away for a few days (actually until sometime next weekend) and I'll be mostly without internet access. I say "mostly" because I'm sure I'll be able to find a cyber-cafe somewhere and check my emails. But I won't have access to my webchecking facilities, so you'll have to wait for proper news until then. Either that or keep checking Speccy Live, where you can get some interesting, pre-translation scene news.
As an aside, I'll have to delay contacting the raww.orgy winners until next weekend when I'm back. So don't worry, I've not forgotten you.

In all the excitement of preparing for the weekends festivities I completely forgot that last Thursday was the 8th Birthday of raww.org. It's customary on the Birthday to give you a whole bunch of boring statistics about the site, such as how many times I've written the word "arse"... but no such luck this time as I don't have access to the stats at the moment, and have more important things to do anyway. But there you go. Eight years and 2872 articles. That's very nearly one a day. Ooh, I'm slacking!
