Below the break are the results to this years raww.orgy 2010 demoparty. I had to normalise some of the results... a three-entry tie for first place in the graphics compo!??! So those entries had the voting normalised to work out who came first. If there is any contention issue with the results... well, I'm fairly certain my maths is correct. I will post more information if it's needed (as I expect it will be).
Full downloads of the compo entries are here, and the text-only version of the results is here.
Note: Updated the download of the party works to include the missing (non-compo) work by newart. Sorry.

I meant to post something earlier, and I also hoped to do something special here, but with the party happening I've not had the time. So... I should at least mention that...
Today raww.org turned 10 years old!

Ehm, not quite the results... not yet.
I have counted the votes and know who came first (so to speak), but there are some... interesting results. Basically, there were 4 x 256b intro entries, with a draw for first place, and 6 x screen$ entries, with a three-way draw for first place!! Yeah, so half of the graphics entries came joint first! Wow! It's silly!
So, the joint first-place in each category will still be first place... but if I get around to sorting out prizes, I will use some clever analysis to work out which entry was most popular. Otherwise it will cost me millions!!!
Does that make sense. Of course not.
Anyway, it's late, so I will post something proper tomorrow.

The ZX Spectrum ULA book is progressing very well www.zxdesign.info/book/. Work has begun on marketing, establishing an account with the printers, getting an ISBN etc.

Choosing a target price for the book is proving difficult. If you think that you would buy the book, register your interest at the above zxdesign link and help set the price you would like to pay by completing the price poll at the World Of Spectrum forums. There is also a general discussion on its pricing here.

I've been asked by a few people if I will allow multi-colour images into the screen$ competition at raww.orgy 2010. The answer is... hmm, no - but I thought I'd explain why...

What, you wanted more than 3 weeks notice? Tsk.
Yes, after much delaying, raww.orgy 2010 has been announced. It's moved back to Yeovil in the UK, and is taking place from the 5th to 7th of February 2010. Click here for some kind of info.txt.
This year I'm not going to promise prizes, but I will see if something can be sorted out. Why? Well, because the winners of the last couple compos are still waiting for something. Don't worry, you've not been forgotten - if you were told you won a prize, you will get something, eventually. It's all worth the wait. Really. And besides, I can probably save some money with postage when Tiboh wins the coding compo again :)

If somebody's interested, I'd put an article with video about my new internal Pentagon 512K interface for ZX Spectrum +2 Issue 3, made by Velesoft some time ago. It's a prototype only, so you can't buy it, but the compatibility with Pentagon is very high and amost all demos work correctly. Go here (Google translator). Original article in Czech is here.

After a long break I started work again on the site www.zxtunes.com
The first thing that I've done is to completely rewrite the online flash AY player, now it's combined with a track list, so you have the possibility to listen to music in real time and leave comments on any track. As the player has been inserted on the search page, you can search a list of tracks and then either listen to them all or download them as an archive. I think it's very convenient.

A minor bugfix release of ESXDOS is now available. It basically fixes a small bug so now people who don't want to flash their DivIDE with ESXDOS can now try it in MAPRAM mode. This means that once the flasher has run, you can reset and use ESXDOS until the next power off. When you power on again, your old firmware will start up. Easy. Get it here!
